Weekends May through October Music in the Vineyards 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Every Saturday and Sunday from the first weekend in May through the end of October, weather permitting, the winery will feature free performances on the lawn beneath the terrace from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. A schedule of performers can be viewed and printed by clicking on the Music in the Vineyards graphic on our homepage. Begins Thursday, June 4 through August Wine Down Thursdays 6-9 p.m. Take advantage of our gorgeous sunsets after hours from the Terrace overlooking the vineyards while sipping our award-winning wines and enjoying food from the Bistro. Friday, August 14 7 p.m. Winemaker's Dinner in the Barrel Room at Childress Vineyards Just added to our event listing by popular demand is this new date for a Winemaker's Dinner at the winery. Held amidst the candlelit ambience in the Barrel Room, the evening features an eight course gourmet meal paired with our award-winning wines, some yet to be released, others Library edition and still others our exquisite varietals and reserve wines. October 3-4 Childress Idol Contest Compete for the chance to perform at the annual Barbecue Festival in Lexington on October 24 prior to the WTQR Guitar Pull featuring top country talent. Winner also receives $250 cash prize and a trophy from Hayes Jewelers in Lexington. Saturday, October 24 The Barbecue Festival, Lexington, NC One Day Sale of Fine Swine WineUptown Lexington at the Childress Vineyards Tent on the Square 8 a.m. until supplies last Friday, November 11 Christmas Open House 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Pre-Holiday gift and wine sale featuring discounted retail items and deep discounts on all wine. Participate in hourly drawings and enjoy a free glass of wine, cheese, bread and fruit while shopping. Preview and place orders for holiday gift baskets. Live music from 5-8 p.m. Friday, November 13 Winemaker's Dinner in the Barrel Room at Childress Vineyards Don't miss the chance to be one of 25 couples to participate in our gourmet food and wine dinner set in the ambience of the Barrel Room amidst all the just harvested 2009 varietals.
